Do you know when we used to play treasure and hunt board games in which we used to find treasure in the lost city name "Atlantis". Does it ever existed, or we just made a utopian city, let's find out the real truth. Atlantis, the word was first mentioned in Plato's works Timaeus and Critia's, Atlantis is described as a naval empire that ruled all western parts of the known world. The legend story of Atlantis is about a moral spiritual people who lived in a highly developed, utopian society. But they became greedy, petty and "morally bankrupt" and the gods became angry because the people had lost their way and turned to immoral pursuits. However, this is a fictional story and there is no such lost city which we used to find and hunt for fun.
I know this is a Heartbreak part but going with Plato's writing, he described earthquake and floods as the main cause for the fall of Atlantis where it sank into the ocean and its warriors were swallowed by earth.
According to the contemporary theorist, they present different hypotheses regarding the destruction of the city.
- Swallowed up by the Bermuda Triangle
Reportedly Charles Berlitz had said that the ancient civilization could have fallen prey to the notorious Bermuda Triangle.
- Atlantis was Antartica?
But after the Earth's crust movements shifted Atlantis to the current location of Antartica, the society couldn't deal with the falling temperature.
- Destroyed in a meteor strike.
A Netflix series called Ancient Apocalypse claims that the thriving civilization of Atlantis was wiped out by floods caused by comet strike.
- Atlantis never existed at all.
It is said that works of Plato were fictional and created to back his moral arguments. And most importantly, outside Plato's work, there are no written records of Atlantis!
