Truth Behind Atlantis: Treasure and Hunt?

Do you know when we used to play treasure and hunt board games in which we used to find treasure in the lost city name "Atlantis". Does it ever existed, or we just made a utopian city, let's find out the real truth. Atlantis, the word was first mentioned in Plato's works Timaeus and Critia's, Atlantis is described as a naval empire that ruled all western parts of the known world. The legend story of Atlantis is about a moral spiritual people who lived in a highly developed, utopian society. But they became greedy, petty and "morally bankrupt" and the gods became angry because the people had lost their way and turned to immoral pursuits. However, this is a fictional story and there is no such lost city which we used to find and hunt for fun.

I know this is a Heartbreak part but going with Plato's writing, he described earthquake and floods as the main cause for the fall of Atlantis where it sank into the ocean and its warriors were swallowed by earth.

According to the contemporary theorist, they present different hypotheses regarding the destruction of the city.

  • Swallowed up by the Bermuda Triangle

The Devil's Triangle, a patch of the Atlantic Ocean, became an urban legend after over 50 ships and 20 airplanes disappeared in the area.

Reportedly Charles Berlitz had said that the ancient civilization could have fallen prey to the notorious Bermuda Triangle.

  • Atlantis was Antartica?

As per a theory, Atlantis was a warmer version of Antartica, the theory continued that the warmer conditions on the continent could have made way for more advanced civilizations.

But after the Earth's crust movements shifted Atlantis to the current location of Antartica, the society couldn't deal with the falling temperature.

  • Destroyed in a meteor strike.

A theory suggests that the lost city of Atlantis could have been destroyed by a comet.

A Netflix series called Ancient Apocalypse claims that the thriving civilization of Atlantis was wiped out by floods caused by comet strike.

  • Atlantis never existed at all.
Despite all the theories around Atlantis, most scientists and historians believe that Atlantis probably never existed.

It is said that works of Plato were fictional and created to back his moral arguments. And most importantly, outside Plato's work, there are no written records of Atlantis!

China: Balloon Strategy

China, no doubt a major powerful country in the growing world. Its economic and military power has shown the world its dominance. China often uses its strategy in influencing the small countries through helping them financially and then trapping them in the debt world.  But here we'll see how China influence and gather secret information from powerful countries like USA. Recently China deployed its balloon over the US territory. Here there are two things we have to keep mind, first what did the US did with the balloon and how China responded.

US alleged that China hovered its 'SPY Balloon' for surveillance and gathered secret information which has been the China's strategy.

However, the balloon was shot down, but China was successful in gathering the intel: US.

Chinese official said that the Balloon was a civilian aircraft which was deviated from its actual route and stated that the US overreacted by shooting the balloon.

The two major countries argued for several weeks, but China was stick to its statement and it triggered a diplomatic row and led US secretary of state: Antony Blinken to cancel a trip to China.

There are many such cases of China's secret surveillance and restrain. Once such act is harboring the Bangladesh port and establishing its outpost to check the India's steps.

Why China is heavily investing in Bangladesh?

Bangladesh has been the most important strategical outpost for China in countering India in South Asia. The country is situated near the Siliguri corridor, also known as chicken Neck of India, which is the only way to access the north-eaten states. China is eager to control the region for disconnecting the network between India and its north-eastern states. For competing with the world, Bangladesh is growing its infrastructure, economy, resource and has started many projects in which China has invested heavily and wants to trap Bangladesh in its debt trap likewise other countries-Maldives, Bhutan, and Nepal, the most recent is the example of Sri Lanka.

In return when the countries are not able to pay their debts, China captures and control their land specifically their ports like the Hambantota port(Sri Lanka). In case of Bangladesh there are many projects in which China has taken control in manufacturing. By taking the full responsibility of the task China influences the country like Bangladesh. The only motive of China is to come near the Indian territory and to create its dominance in South Asia.

There are some projects of Bangladesh in which China has invested:

  • Padma Bridge (Connects North-South of Bangladesh)
  • Coal-Fired power plant (Pyra by China National Machinery Import and Export Cooperation)
  • Dhaka mass rapid transit line-6 (Metro Rail)

The most highlighted topic we see and heard is China trapping developing countries in its debt trap, the Chinese official stated that "speaking the topic of the debt trap which can be heard in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, China accounted for only 5% of debt in terms of Bangladesh's GDP. "If you call that a debt trap, I don't have anything to say".

But still, With the growing economy and projects which are controlled by China in our neighboring countries is a major concern for India.
